Why teenagers need to stop vaping

Why teenagers need to stop vaping

The entire vaping industry was appalled when it became apparent that teenagers were picking up vaping. This was not the plan. Using e-cigarettes to vape was created strictly for smokers trying to quit. However, now this isn’t the case, teenagers all over the world are vaping regularly. This generation of kids is now skipping the experimental cigarette phase and going straight into using mango-flavored vapes. There are so many reasons why this is incredibly concerning, and not just for the parents. Here are the main reasons why you should be concerned about teenagers vaping and why they need to stop.

The amount of nicotine

Vaping is a form of nicotine replacement therapy for smokers, meaning they are meant to still have nicotine in them. Granted, inhaling nicotine through the aerosol of e-liquid is safer than smoking it through burning tobacco smoke, but that isn’t the point. The point is the amount of nicotine that is in the e-cigarettes. The amount of nicotine in disposable e-cigarettes is very high to accommodate regular smokers on the go, this type of e-cigarette is the easiest to get for most teens. Teens who smoke these kinds of e-cigarettes regularly will develop an addiction to nicotine. There are e-liquids that are available without nicotine as seen on the website of Mr. Joy, however, teens don’t do much research about these things.

Gateway to regular cigarettes

When teenagers inevitably become dependent on nicotine, it is possible they’ll want to go for regular cigarettes. A study has been conducted to research if this is true, and unfortunately, it is. Kids and teens who pick up vaping and do it regularly are more likely to smoke cigarettes than kids and teens who have never vaped. This fact is the most concerning as well as unfortunate because vaping is meant to be a tool to deter from smoking cigarettes, but for teens who have never smoked cigarettes but vaped instead, it is making them privy to the idea.

Developing brains can be damaged

Using any type of substance whether that be alcohol or nicotine, will have a negative effect on the brains of teenagers. Their brains are still being developed and extended use of nicotine harms that. The personality of the teen will be different after that harm to the brain. It can cause their attention span to suffer, depression, and more, not to mention the physical effects. If the teen chooses to quit vaping, the nicotine withdrawals will be terrible for them to experience to get through, it’s hard enough on adults.
